Italy

Skiing in the Italian Dolomites has something for everyone:

  1. -Enjoy all the luxuries of on-piste skiing, but travel from village to village, valley to valley on skis while your luggage gets transported to the next hotel.

  2. -Step up the adventure with hut to hut touring throughout the Dolomite region or on the Ortler Traverse.

  3. -Combine touring and lifts for incredible ski mountaineering traverses and descents.

  4. -Helicopter ski to the top of the Marmolada, the highest summit in the Dolomites, then ski powder back to the valley for lunch.

The best parts of skiing in the Dolomites are the food and the people. Friendly and welcoming, the local people of the Dolomites believe in living life to the fullest, and they walk the talk! Enjoy delicious, hearty meals prepared with local ingredients in the traditional Ladin style.

Dolomite Skiing

Our programs this summer include:

September 2010 - Rock climbing, via ferrata and hut-to-hut hiking in the Dolomites.

September-October 2010 - Programs centered around local food culture in Tuscany, Piemonte, Alto Adige, Liguria & Aosta. There will be a week of climbing and hiking in and around the Maritime Alps and coast of Italy and France. Another week will be based in Impruneta with cooking classes, bike rides, hikes and even some rock climbing. (Tuscan Culinary.pdf) The third week focuses on events surrounding Slow Food International’s Terra Madre & Salone del Gusto events in Torino. Sample local and international cuisine, discuss global food issues, and get to know local producers. We will intersperse the week with adventures around Torino including city tours, walks in the countryside, bike riding and hiking, and perhaps some rock climbing.
