Bill has been roaming the world as a climber for some 25 odd years. His wanderings have taken him from the Himalayas and Peru, all around the North American continent, and to random places like the south of Thailand. Bill's main love for these wanderings began with the art of rock climbing - the simple process of moving over stone. Whether on the boulders of Horsetooth, or the walls of Yosemite, this simple art is both the base skill for mountain travel and an ends in itself.

Formally trained as a biologist and chemist at Colorado State University, Bill has worked as a chemical analyst and being from the midwest spent his childhood growing up on a farm - 'as a child I thought everyone learned to drive at age 10'. He has augmented this working for the National Park Service, building log homes, casting ceramics and coordinating a ski school. For the past 15 years Bill has guided people through the mountains, back roads, and canyons of the western US, with the past 10 years devoted mainly to climbing guiding. The single most important element Bill brings to the table is his ability to share in the form of instruction. Bill's teaching styles mimic his eclectic background of life experiences and provides him the ability to succeed with a wide range of students. Instruction is also a metaphorical expression of his leadership beliefs, and in this process he finds his professional satisfaction.

Bill is a certified rock, alpine and ski mountaineering guide with the AMGA and the UIAGM/IFMGA. He lives in Kelly, Wyoming.
