Welcome to the Teton Ice Park


Use of this recreation area is under Aerial Boundaries, permitee of Caribou-Targhee National Forest, in cooperation with Grand Targhee Resort. No person shall be denied access to this area on the basis of race, color, national origin, age or handicap. Your continued use and enjoyment is conditional on the following:


  1. 1.There is no charge for your use and it is therefore subject to the Wyoming Recreation Safety Act.  Wyo. Stat. §1-1-121 et seq.


  1. 2.If you choose to use this recreation area you are voluntarily assuming the risks of known and unknown hazards that exist thereon including, but not limited to: steep unguarded cliffs; slippery surfaces; steep and un-maintained trails; loose and unstable rocks and ice, falling objects; and the conduct of other user’s.


3.Please respect the public and private partnership of this recreation area and…

a.Act in a safe and reasonable manner.

b.Be courteous to other users

c.Stay on existing trails

d.Remove all trash and personal equipment

e.Do not anchor to any part of the water system or other manmade object


Rules of the Teton Ice Park


Check in is required for all users at the Grand Targhee Resort Activity Center at the Resort base area.


Access is only through the marked gate at the south end of the Grand Targhee Resort parking area.


Crampons are required for all persons (climbers or otherwise) in the established “climbers only” areas.


Crampons and a helmet are required for all persons while climbing or at the base of the cliffs.


No anchoring to any manmade structures including the water system.


Please be kind and watch your time on an anchor. There are others that wish to climb.


Public must yield climbing routes to classes operated by the permitee, Aerial Boundaries.


Sorry, no dogs allowed.


It is suggested that all persons under the age of 18 be accompanied by an adult at all times.


Persons violating these rules will lose the privilege of climbing in the ice park.
