Custom Guided Trips

Custom Trips Around the World

Climb and hike in the Dolomite Mountains in Italy, then travel to Tuscany for 2 days of cooking school with a master; Hike the Torres del Paine, sea-kayak to the ocean, then spend time on an authentic Patagonian estancia and learn the ways of families who have lived the ranch lifestyle for generations; Visit the monolithic churches of Ethiopia then dance around a bonfire with local villagers into the night; Climb the iconic peaks of the world’s ranges with guides who teach as much as they guide and who want to share their world with you.

We believe in small group travel catered to your interests and aspirations. You won’t find group trips in our pages, only ideas of destinations that we have explored and want to share with you and your group of friends and family. We believe in the process of working with you to create an experience that meets your needs and inspires your imagination.

While we have connections throughout the world and feel we can put together a trip just about anywhere, here are some of our special places:

Climbing and Mountaineering

Our custom mountaineering trips range from warm, sunny rock climbing in places like the City of Rocks, Idaho or Southern Utah tower climbs, to snow and ice covered peaks around the globe. We can design a series of experiences that will give you the tools to tackle most any mountaineering objective you might think of.

Backcountry Skiing

With 6 months of snow on the ground here in the Tetons, we have what you need to become a better skier, or just go shred powder. We operate in Grand Teton National Park through Exum Mountain Guides for custom skiing and  mountaineering trips, and we can also work on ski technique on Snow King Mountain or Jackson Hole Mountain Resort. Several of our guides work for the Jackson Hole Alpine Guides off piste for lift assisted backcountry skiing. And the Tetons are a great destination unto itself or a preparation ground for trips to tours in the Alps, heli-skiing or touring in Chile and Argentina, or Canadian lodge trips in British Columbia.

Trekking

Trekking trips are a great way to see magical mountain landscapes around the world and connect with local people. We have operated trips in Patagonia, on the Inca Roads of Peru, on Kilimanjaro in Tanzania, and to the headwaters of the Ganges River in the Indian Himalaya.

Sea Kayaking

We work with local operators to combine sea-kayaking with our trekking trips in Patagonia. Sea-kayaking is an amazing way to travel from the mountains to the ocean, and see a vast amount of terrain in a short period of time. We’re also able to use set camps where we can make great meals or even enjoy a asado de cordero (lamb bbq) on the shores of the Rio Serrano.

Patagonia Trip Experience

Cultural Tours

We strive to be travelers, not tourists. With our local connections throughout the world we’re able visit with local people and have experiences that tourists can’t. The best example is Patagonia. We spend time on the Estancia Rio Verde, a working sheep and cattle ranch on the shores of Skyring Sound. Ride horses on the windswept grasslands with the ranch’s staff and even get your hands dirty helping out with ranch chores. On a recent trip to the Dolomites, Christian was invited by a local guide to climb the Marmolada, the highest summit in the region, on the 150th anniversary of its first ascent. Dressing in period clothing the group ascended the mountain with hundreds of others and was treated to a choral band concert on the summit!

What Type of Trip Do You Want?

We are a full service global guiding operation. What sort of trip are you interested in? We can work with you to develop an unforgettable mountain or travel experience.

Our Destinations

Patagonia

Owners Christian Santelices and Sue Muncaster have deep, intimate connections in Chilean and Argentine Patagonia. Christian’s father is the owner of the Estancia Rio Verde just outside of Punta Arenas, Chile. Aerial Boundaries has hosted guests at this special place for almost twenty years. It is always the highlight of any trip to Patagonia. We have explored many corners of Patagonia and love sharing this wild land and its people and we work with some of the most experienced guides in the region who will show you around like a local.

Tetons

They say that home is where the heart is. And while our hearts are often split, the Tetons are definitely our home. Come experience some of the best backcountry skiing and ski mountaineering in North America or climb the iconic Grand Teton. All of the trips we do in the Tetons are through Exum Mountain Guides, America’s oldest and most experienced guide service where Christian is a Senior and former Chief Guide.

The Tetons are also one of the best places to train for many of our international trips. Prepare for climbs in the Alps or Patagonia by doing the Grand or Cathedral Traverses.

Southern Utah

Cedar Mesa and Indian Creek, Utah provide incredible desert landscapes. In these areas we explore pristine canyons that demand a variety of outdoor skills including navigation, scrambling and rappelling. Tucked away in many of these places are Ancestral Puebloan ruins dating back 1000 years and more, and an abundance of hearty desert flora and fauna. Climb challenging red sandstone towers or spend some time learning the intricacies of crack climbing in the incomparable Indian Creek. Wherever we take you in the red rock deserts of Utah, you are sure to have a once-in-a-lifetime experience.
